Is a pub that disables the pokie (gambling machine) button illegal/wrong?

I was playing the pokies (gambling machine) at a pub in a shonky part of town in the city once and I started to notice a woman employee opening every gaming machine and disconnecting the button with the second lowest betting limit. I assume this was so people that were sick of betting the lowest limit would have to increase there bet even higher because the second highest limit button had been disabled. Is this illegal??? It made me a bit angry and I felt like getting out my camera and taking a video of this employee disable the second bet buttons. Has anyone ever seen clubs/pubs do this? is this standard practice? I think is discusting and an insult to problem gamblers. I will never go back to that pub again. They need to be exposed and get a big fine for it. This should be illegal if it’s not.

In most jurisdictions, gambling is heavily regulated. Just email the local gambling commission and they will investigate. I’d be concerned about the lowest bet button being disabled since if the odds are right, the lowest bet is still the safest for exponential growth however most of the time, the odds are not suitable for exponential growth hence you shouldn’t bet.
