Recently i came across a worksheet that displayed the cricket world cup schedule. i had to enter a coutries name through filter and it would display the respective game date etc, the game time in my country etc. a complex sheet, but can anybody tell me about me more about using excel in such way.

I have written exactly such sheets. Not for cricket schedule but for work information. One of my recent sheets is for cargo consolidation schedules using airline information.

The thing you need to understand is that this is a highly complex use of Excel. Its not something you can just pick up a few tips on. It requires a coordination of database design, record “Keys” and how to look them up for a display.

Here’s an example of one formula in my recent sheet:
