Can anyone recommend a good educational book for video game design?
A good friend of mine who is proficient in the programming side of video game design wants me to do the artistic side of the game. Design characters. Make tiles. ECT
I feel confident in my artistic abilities however I am unfamiliar with what programs are normally used. And the best way to approach such a project. The games we will be designing will be for droid and iPhone.
Can anyone recommend any online courses? Books? Suggestions in where I should start in learning the basics and grasping a better understanding of this side of video game design?
Remember I am not looking for a book on coding. I wish to learn about what tools are used and how to use them in creating the graphics part of tile games Like Zelda for example.
